It still felt surreal, even after trying to settle down in this new place. Despite being a resort, feeling relaxed was the last thing on Thirteen's mind; there was so much she didn't understand about this place, how it could take people from different times (as was proven by the late Amber's presence). Taking a sip of her iced tea, she looked around and stared blankly at the book in front of her. It seemed interesting, and under any other circumstances she may have finished it by now.
Weeks passed by and she couldn't get past page five.
At least she hasn't begun to showcase any symptoms of Huntington's, which only gave her a slight reprieve from everything. She was almost afraid to get herself tested again, or even perform tests to see if it was progressing or not. It was all on her mind; she had refused to even step near the medical center since she had no idea how House or the others would react. Not that Amber had it any easier, but it had been a while since Thirteen had seen her, either.
If only she could get her hand on some drugs or find a night club or something to distract her...
